Road Safety & Responsible Driving

As a transport company, road safety is central to our operations.

Taran Transport is committed to promoting responsible driving practices and reducing the risks associated with operating commercial vehicles on public roads.

Our drivers and transportation personnel are expected to:
Follow applicable road traffic laws and regulations.
Drive responsibly and with consideration for other road users.
Never operate a vehicle while impaired or otherwise unable to drive safely.
Follow applicable speed limits and road safety requirements.
Carry out required vehicle checks before and during journeys.
Report vehicle defects or safety concerns promptly.
Take appropriate breaks and avoid driving when excessively fatigued.
Ensure that cargo is handled and secured appropriately for transportation.
Follow company procedures relating to vehicle and cargo safety.

Management will support safe driving through appropriate training, communication and supervision.

Drug & Alcohol Policy

Taran Transport is committed to maintaining a safe, professional and productive working environment.

The use of alcohol or drugs can affect a person’s judgement, coordination, concentration and ability to perform work safely. For this reason, employees and other persons working on behalf of Taran Transport must not report for duty or carry out company work while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

The company prohibits:
Reporting to work while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Operating a company vehicle while impaired.
Consuming alcohol while carrying out company duties.
Possessing or using illegal drugs while on company business or company premises.
Any conduct involving alcohol or drugs that could place employees, customers, cargo or members of the public at risk.

Employees who use prescribed medication that may affect their ability to work safely should seek appropriate medical advice and inform their supervisor where necessary for workplace safety.

Any breach of this policy may result in disciplinary action in accordance with company procedures and applicable employment requirements.
